KomshiLOOK is an independent association dedicated to exploring neighborhood, community, and shared memory through contemporary art and cultural practice. With the opening of its new space in Železara, the association initiates a process-based exhibition entitled “Memento” that begins with everyday objects collected from local residents and continues through artistic interventions that activate their hidden narratives. Invited artists create works in dialogue with selected objects, positioning the exhibition as a living, evolving structure in which personal histories and collective experience continuously reshape one another.

In the work “Conserved Ideas”, the refrigerator becomes an archive of forgotten knowledge. Instead of food, it stores thoughts, ideologies, and dreams—carefully packed, yet lifeless.

Books that were once symbols of enlightenment now stand as cold artifacts of cultural memory. Each drawer represents a layer of collective remembrance—from preserved ideals to archived utopias.

The work raises the question: what happens to thought when we preserve it instead of living it?
